Reusing Your Favourite Candle Jars And Wax
A candles life doesn’t have to end once the wax is down to 1cm. There are various different ways to get the most of them!
Ecoya and Glasshouse candles come in practical jars and have beautifully fragranced wax, both of which can be re-used in multiple ways.
Here are a few of our favourite ways to re-use Glasshouse and Ecoya candles...
Removing The Wax From The Jar
After you have enjoyed the fragrance of your favourite Ecoya or Glasshouse candle and there is approximately 1cm of wax left, your jar and/or wax are ready to be re-purposed!
To easily get the candle wax out of the jar, pop it in the freezer overnight. In the morning, the wax will have shrunken and hardened allowing it to fall out cleanly. Wash the jar in warm water, wipe with a clean cloth and it is ready to store whatever you like!
Our Favourite Uses...
As Glasshouse candles have a rubber sealed lid, they are perfect for storing an array of items, including cotton buds and pads, herbs, dried goods and small trinkets.
However, there are plenty of uses for your candle jar without a lid. Our favourites include using the jar as pencil or pen pot on our work desks, or to plant a cute little succulent in!
The Candle Wax
There are plenty of uses for the last of your candle's wax. Once you have successfully remove the wax from the candle jar, it can continue to fill your home with a beautiful scent.
Using the leftover wax in a wax burner is a simple yet effective way to use up all of the wax. Simply sit it in a wax burner or melter, light a tealight below and enjoy the fragrance as the wax melts.
Make your car smell like your favourite Glasshouse or Ecoya candle by turning the leftover candle wax into a car air freshener. Place the leftover wax in a small jar, pierce a few holes in the lid (or use a salt and pepper shaker) - and voila - a car air freshener in the scent of your favourite candle!
Enjoy the extended life of your favourite candle!
